Since Liberty Media’s takeover of Formula One a while ago, the American company has constantly pushed the idea of expanding the sport of Formula One to new avenues around the globe in a bid to improve the popularity of the sport. The company behind the franchise has also unveiled plans of hosting the first-ever F1 Grand Prix in Vietnam in the year 2020. However, the current world champion, Lewis Hamilton, was not too pleased with the company’s idea of expanding into previously untapped markets....

For the unaware, Adin Ross is an IRL streamer over on Twitch, and a recent livestream showcasing the creator driving while streaming seems to be the cause of the ban. July 7, the streamer went live on Twitch while driving in his car, and was clearly checking his phone multiple times to follow chat messages. Ross’s current suspension is his fourth on the platform, as one time he received a ban from Twitch for nudity and another for homophobic remarks....

Some of these cases are justified, but there are plenty of bans that have been reversed some time later due to an error on Twitch’s end. Now, another smaller Twitch streamer has spoken out about been banned for using what was deemed to be an “inappropriate” username on the platform. One of the problems with Twitch bans has been the seeming inconsistency with which they are applied. After the platform was hacked last week, a do-not-ban list of certain Twitch streamers surfaced, seeming to confirm the already firmly held belief that some content creators receive special treatment. And oftentimes, those who get banned are not given a clear reason, leaving them and their viewers to guess. Even Dr Disrespect, who was removed from Twitch in June 2020, only learned the cause in 2021....

Twitch further elaborates that the word “simp” is disallowed content, as it constitutes as an insult, bullying or threatening. For the most part, streamers and viewers alike are simply confused as to why this would be a priority, but some are pretty peeved that the emotes are being taken down at all.
