Bitcoin fell about 4% last month after Turkey’s central bank prohibited the use of crypto in commerce, citing the danger of “irreparable” damage and transactional risk. “Their use in payments may cause non-recoverable losses for the parties to the transactions, and include elements that may undermine the confidence in methods and instruments used currently in payments,” Turkey’s central bank said when it announced the ban. Twitch’s Problem With Viewbots The news broke on the official Twitch Support Twitter account. The company has been using “ongoing machine learning technology” to detect most of these accounts, which are now being scrubbed off Twitch. The company follows up this statement by saying that the wave of bans will hit both view bots and follow bots. As such, Twitch streamers may notice that their average view count and/or their follower count drop as a result of the removals....

In her statement, BrookeAB explains that she has received “multiple threats” where someone has said they would release her full name, phone number, address, and other personal information (a practice called doxxing). BrookeAB has kept some of her personal details secret in an effort to maintain privacy. KarenLiao told the viewer that they could not do anything with $1 and said “don’t be poor” in an attempt to have them send more money. The streamer then threatened to ban the viewer if they did not subscribe and even proceeded to aggressively countdown from 10 in hopes that this harassment tactic would bully the viewer into subscribing and gifting more money....

On Twitter, Twitch streamer quqco shared a screenshot of an email she’d received from Twitch explaining that she’d been banned for “sharing or engaging sexually suggestive content or activities.” quqco will be unable to stream for three days, said the email. Quqco and many of her bands were shocked by the ban. “I am fully covered,” wrote the streamer in a tweet, “I don’t understand how this is sexually suggestive content?...
