Peacock’s Twisted Metal series marks the latest attempt to develop a live-action Twisted Metal project following a proposed Twisted Metal movie by Sony Pictures and Crank director Brian Taylor that ultimately never saw the light of day. This series is getting considerably farther through development, however. The series has found a director in The Eric Andre Show showrunner Kitao Sakurai, a writer in Cobra Kai’s Michael Jonathan Smith, and writing credits from Deadpool’s Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Avengers: Endgame actor Anthony Mackie and Encanto actress Stephanie Beatriz attached to star in the series.

Now, Neve Campbell and Thomas Haden Church have joined what is quickly becoming an exciting ensemble of actors. For Scream actress Neve Campbell, this will be her first appearance in a series since HBO Max’s The Lincoln Lawyer series, which was recently released on its platform. While Campbell’s role hasn’t been revealed, Deadline reports that Thomas Haden Church will play Agent Stone, a tenacious highway patrolman seeking to “bring law and order back to the Divided States of America.” The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor can be seen next in the independent coming-of-age film Acidman, which premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival this June.
Peacock has continued to provide new content to its viewers, such as their Saved by the Bell reboot and dramatic reimagining of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Peacock has recently aired live streams of events such as WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, while Universal has also been releasing films such as Halloween Ends and Firestarter day-and-date in theaters and on the streaming service.
