However, it seems as though it isn’t all fun and games at Twitch. The site has had to make some alterations to its dress code. The new changes warn streamers to wear appropriate clothing for their channels. “Nerds are sexy, and you’re all magnificent, beautiful creatures, but let’s try and keep this about the games, shall we?” Asks the newly-updated Rules of Conduct. In a light-hearted and tongue-in-cheek warning, the rules state that “You may have a great six-pack, but that’s better shared on the beach during a 2-on-2 volleyball game blasting Playing with the Boys.” So you’re out of luck if you happen to be called Maverick or Iceman.
“Wearing no clothing or sexually suggestive clothing - including lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments - is prohibited,” the dress code continues, “as well as any fully nude torsos.” This applies to both male and female broadcasters, but Twitch does give a bit of lee-way. If you live in a warm climate, Twitch won’t make you put on a sweater. Instead, they suggest that you “just crop the webcam to your face. Problem solved.” And if you’re stuck for something to wear, the Rules also note that Twitch “sell t-shirts, and those are always acceptable.”
