The popular social network did not go completely offline, but DownDetector, a website that tracks the availability of online platforms, said in an update that it had been hit with issues since 10:06 a.m. EDT and noted an influx of over 3,500 user reports today across the U.S. and Europe.

A warning briefly encountered by Newsweek today stated: “Something went wrong. Twitter is currently over capacity. Please wait a few moments then try again.” It reloaded without further issue.

But as is standard when a platform experiences problems, users were quick to notice—and comment. It was not immediately clear how many users were impacted by the suspected bug.

A Twitter status page lists the site as being fully operational with no incidents reported today. It said in an incident report that the last major service disruption had occurred on April 12.

But user complaints still mounted. “Twitter was briefly down, and it’s hard to articulate that perfect blend of dread/panic and relief/ecstasy,” wrote user Louis Peitzman. “Is it just me getting this issue? Or is Twitter down in general?” added another account, sharing an image of tweets not loading.

Twitter’s media team has been contacted for comment on the suspected outages.
