Arsenal started the week with a loss to Crystal Palace where they lost a thrilling contest which ended up as 3-2. Hoping for a redemption, the Gunners visited Molineux Stadium where they were hosted by Wolves but their fortunes saw no change as they lost 3-1 there as well. The loss against Leicester City today has dented the hopes of a top four finish and Champions League football next week.

The result was not something Unai Emery was hoping for but Jamie Vardy’s pair of goals and Yoeri Tielemans’ header left the Gunners still unmoved from the fifth as they just sit two point adrift of the top four.

The Spaniard responded to the loss against Foxes by saying:

The Arsenal boss conceded that the red card to Ainsley Maitland-Niles turned the tide against his team and that the top four finish seems quite difficult but his team will do everything in its power to finish the season on a high.

Unai Emery indicated that the Europa League may be key to the Champions League qualification next season and would like to shift his focus more towards that competition.
